FDA Compliance: For contact with dry, aqueous, acidic and low alcohol-containing (up to 15% by volume) foods.

 

1: FDA compliant for conditions of use C, D, E, F, and G at loadings less than or equal to 0.2%

 

2: FDA compliant for conditions of use C, D, E, F, and G at loadings less than or equal to 0.1%

 

3: FDA compliant for conditions of use A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H at loadings less than or equal to 32 ppm

 

4: FDA compliant for conditions of use A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H at loadings less than or equal to 50 ppm

 

5: These dyes should be FDA compliant for conditions of use C, D, E, F, and G. Independent testing is required to verify the maximum loadings and FDA compliance.


High Alcohol: These products identified are also FDA compliant for use in contact with high alcohol-containing (up to 50%) foods for Conditions of Use E-G, at the corresponding loading listed below.

i.   Less than or equal to 0.05%

ii.  Less than or equal to 0.10%

iii. Less than or equal to 0.15%


FDA CONDITIONS OF USE

 

A:  High temperature, above 121C (250F)

 

B:  Boiling water sterilized at 100C (212F)

 

C:  Hot filled or pasteurized above 66C (150F)

 

D:  Hot filled or pasteurized below 66C (150F)

 

E:  Room temperature filled and stored, no thermal treatment in container

 

F:  Refrigerated storage, no thermal treatment in container

 

G:  Frozen storage, no thermal treatment in container

 

H:  Frozen or refrigerated storage, foods to be reheated in container
