Oranges for Polyamide

Need to color match RAL 2003 for Europe and RAL 2008/2011 for North America? ColorChem has the solutions.

As the world moves toward producing sustainable electric vehicles, demand has surged for high-voltage automotive components. Many of these high-voltage cables and connectors are required to be bright orange colors, more specifically defined as RAL 2003, 2008 and 2011. RAL 2003 is the brightest, RAL 2011 is redder and duller, and RAL 2008 falls somewhere in between.

To make this color match in polyamide, ColorChem has several solutions.

We offer Amaplast® Orange PA, Amaplast® Orange YXL and Amaplast® Orange GXP – the highest performance orange solvent dyes on the market.

These 3 dyes offer heat stability well above 300°C in glass-filled polyamide. The sublimation resistance of Orange YXL and Orange GXP exceeds 500°C. In contrast, Solvent Orange 60 will sublimate at 280°C—which is at, or below, the processing temperature of most polyamides.

Lastly, the lightfastness of our products is unbeatable, with Orange YXL and GXP registering a 7 on the blue wool scale under DIN EN ISO 4892-2 test conditions.

In addition, we offer the Neolor™ Light Orange H (Pigment Orange 78) which is a cerium sulfide based pigment. The Light Orange H can be used in addition to Amaplast® Orange YXL or Amaplast® Orange GXP to obtain further opacity and durability.

The above colorants are all commercially available for sampling and sales. Please contact us if you need technical data, safety data sheets, samples or pricing. You may email us at: sales@colorchem.com or call us at 1 (770) 993-5500.
